Professional Pet Sitting was started in 2002 by Monica Leighton. Monica was approached by several clients looking for an alternative to kenneling their pets while they traveled. They wanted someone they could trust to come into their home and care for their pets, in their own environment, where they felt safe and secure and where they are able to continue their normal routines. Monica, being an avid pet lover, was happy to take on the job. Clients started referring their friends and family after having great experiences using Monica's services and it came to a point where Monica was unable to handle all the requests for services on her own. That is when Professional Pet Sitting was started. Monica and her staff of contracted sitters have been giving pet owners peace of mind while traveling ever since. The invaluable sitters used by Professional Pet Sitting care for a clients two most precious things. Their pets and their homes. In 2004, Professional Pet Sitting successfully started a petitioning campaign in Sarasota County for the creation of pet friendly evacuation shelters as well as became the first known pet sitting business to create a disaster preparedness plan for their clients pets. In 2005, Professional Pet Sitting was awarded the prestigious "Business of the Year" award from the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce and has since then been awarded "Best in Venice" twice.

Pet Sitter
I am Mary "Pinky" Robinson. I was born, raised and educated in Newburgh, N.Y. in the Hudson Valley. I worked for Nabisco for 30 1/2 years in various positions, the last being Personnel Manager and Purchasing Agent. After the plant closed I worked 14 years in dry cleaning. The cleaners was sold in the middle of 2004 and I decided to move to Venice, Florida in September of 2004. I really enjoy pets and was looking for a job that would allow me to interact with them. That's when I started working for Professional Pet Sitting. I really enjoy the job and spending time with such cute furry friends. Sincerely, Mary "Pinky" Robinson
