My name is Riley (I'm the one licking my face in
the picture) and this is the story of me and my brother Harry going on a big
adventure. (As you'll soon come to find out, we dogs find it necessary
to state the obvious.) We'd been watching mom and dad pack the car
since last night and knew that something was up. Harry and I were
getting worried that they were going to leave us behind. You can
imagine our excitement when they put our bed in the car and told us to get
in.
Yippi! We're going for a car ride. We don't know where we're
going, but does it really matter? |

We're Ready! What's taking so long? |

I kept falling asleep in the car, but it was
really fun when we stopped for gas. This place was called South
Carolina and it was very chilly. |
|
|

Traveling makes me sleepy. I think I'll
just shut
my eyes for a few minutes. Good thing I have my dog bed. |

Dog bed? I don't need no stinkin' dog bed! |
|
|

Ok, is she ever going to put that thing down?
This is supposed to be a vacation, right? |
On our first Monday, we went for a big walk in a park in the
neighborhood called Lake Mohigan. Mom and Dad have gone there a lot,
but we had never been. It turned out to be great! There were
bunches of dogs (they didn't even have to be on a leash!) walking with their
owners. Harry and I had great fun dragging Mom and Dad up and down the
hills. The temperature was in the 40's, so we were extra frisky. |
|
|

These dogs are really big! They called
themselves the "Newfoundlands", whatever that means. Harry thought
they were pretty cool, but I was afraid they might sit on me. |
|
|

Wow! Check out that drool! |

We don't have rocks like this in Florida. Did I
mention that it is cold up here? I think I'm going to have to take a nap
when I get home. |

On Nov 17th we picked up fish-n-chips (2 for 1
senior discount!) and had a picnic on the grounds of the old Shakespeare
Theater in Stratford, CT. |

How come we don't get any fish-n-chips? Woe is
me. They never feed us... |

A boathouse where the Housatonic River
meets the Long Island Sound. |

Hey, at least we got to go for a walk. It's a
good thing all the parks are friendly to dogs up here. There is almost
no place that we're not allowed to go. |
